Country Manager – Singapore

We’re looking for a commercially driven and strategic Country Manager to spearhead our expansion and business development in Singapore. About the Role 

As our Country Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing NEC’s presence across Singapore and the region. Your primary responsibilities are identifying and converting new business opportunities, managing key client and relationships, and hitting ambitious sales targets. Other key responsibilities include overseeing the Singapore office setup and day to day management, supporting Singapore P&L management, and ensuring operational activities and client deliverables are executed smoothly for Singapore. 

This role is ideal for someone with entrepreneurial experience, a consultative sales approach, a strong understanding of strategic business development, and the ability to lead with energy and commercial insight. 

Responsibilities: 

Business Development: 

  • Prospect and convert new leads into long-term clients 

  • Develop strategic sales plans with clear goals and timelines 

  • Pitch, present, and negotiate with key stakeholders 

  • Deliver accurate forecasts and progress reports weekly 

Strategic Partnerships: 

  • Build and manage long-term relationships with strategic partners 

  • Identify collaborative opportunities to expand market reach and product offering 

Commercial & Operational: 

  • Prepare high-value sales proposals, presentations, and bids 

  • Oversee sales margins, budgets, and license agreements within guidelines 

  • Drive consultant engagement and manage regional pipelines 

  • Actively contribute to regional resource/talent planning and development 

  • Ensure regional customer feedback and complaints are handled in a timely and appropriate manner by the Operations team 

General Management: 

  • Support Head of APAC on Singapore P&L management 

  • Keep track of and report on market trends and competitive insights into Singapore and Southeast Asia 

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in APAC as well as UK in developing and executing on regional GTM 

  • Oversee general office management and operational activities for SG 

About You: 

Essential Skills & Experience: 

  • Proven experience in training, online learning, or construction/legal sectors 

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and consultative sales skills 

  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office 

  • Strong planning, budgeting, and commercial acumen 

  • Experience managing gross margins and delivering to ambitious sales targets 

  • Proven track record in exceeding targets within an entrepreneurial environment

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 

  • Track record in B2B sales or business development 

  • Leadership experience in relevant sectors 

  • Established contacts into construction/built environment industry and the government a strong plus  

  • English native proficiency required 

  • Mandarin or any other Asian language business proficiency a strong plus
