Your work will involve engaging with a broad spectrum of civil engineering employers and educational institutions, primarily focusing on London, North London, Berks, Bucks, Oxon and the Thames Valley regions while also covering London and its surrounding counties.
The Role:
This role combines technical knowledge, mentoring, and relationship-building to foster the growth and success of ICE’s membership base.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proactively implement initiatives to attract and retain a diverse membership, including technicians and apprentices.
- Organise and deliver activities to promote ICE membership to new audiences.
- Offer one-on-one and group guidance to members and non-members on their professional qualification journey, both online and in-person.
- Build strong relationships with employers, offering advice on professional development and mentoring programs.
- Strengthen links with colleges and universities to inspire future civil engineers.
- Work closely with other MDOs to ensure consistency and share best practices.
- Ensure ICE membership databases are accurate and up to date.
What we are looking for:
- Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience in Civil Engineering, training, or professional development. Professional qualification (EngTech, IEng, or CEng) is desirable, but not essential.
- Able to engage with diverse audiences, from aspiring engineers to senior industry professionals, with excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, with the ability to transform technical content into clear, non-technical outputs.
- Ready to work occasional evenings and travel as required, with a valid driver’s license and access to a car (car allowance provided).
- Committed to Excellence: Passionate about advancing the engineering profession and delivering exceptional support to members.
Why join ICE?
- Help shape the future of civil engineering by mentoring the next generation of professionals.
- Collaborate with leading industry employers and educational institutions.
- Be part of a globally recognised institution dedicated to professional excellence.
- Join a team of passionate, like-minded individuals who are committed to making a difference.
